One Week Song Writing Event

The One Week Song Writing Event is a fun way to connect with other music producers in our community, and you don’t even need to be in the same room! We give you some samples that must be used in the song, and you provide a song in any genre 7 days later. There is a $100 prize (decided by lottery) announced at our Jan 22 Electric Tavern event. Details

• On Jan 15 you will be able to download 4 stems. You must use 2 of the 4 stems.

• Song can be any tempo, genre, etc. (between 3 and 10 min long)

• Finished product delivered by Jan 22 12:00 noon

• Winner of $100 prize is selected by lottery at Jan 22 Electric Tavern live and streamed event (Winner has 24 hrs to contact Oscill8)

• All songs remain the property of the creator, but may be shared by Oscill8 for promotional purposes only

Stems: Drums, bass, synth 1, synth 2

• Stems are .wav format

• We will provide the original tempo and key of the stems (Key of D, tempo 120 BPM)

• Stems can be modified in any way as long as they are basically recognizable. This includes actions like shifting pitch, changing length of either part, and adding effects.

Delivery and Deadlines

Finished product delivered by Jan 22 12:00 noon

• Format option A: functioning link to public site (e.g. Sound Cloud, You Tube, Band Camp, etc.)

• Format option B: .wav or .mp3/ .mp4 file (either by email or link to remote storage such as Drop Box, Google Drive, etc.)

  • *Make sure to adjust your settings to be accessible by anyone with link

“Winner” selected at Jan 22 Electric Tavern event:

• Prize $100

• Selected by lottery. Song quality is not taken into account (as long as you have fun!)

• Winning song played at event (live and online)

• Winner announced during event, on Oscill8 discord channel, on Facebook group, and on Oscill8 website

• Winner has 24 hrs to contact Oscill8 (if not, redraw next day)

NOTE 1: This event is open to any electronic music producer. You do not need to be a member of the Oscill8 community in any way.

NOTE 2: This event is NOT open to any currently participating Oscill8 board member.
